The FileWave Dashboard provides summary information about your FileWave server, your deployments, and pretty much anything else you'd like to know about your FileWave environment.

The best time to use the dashboard is when summary data is important to you, particularly regarding server performance and deployment progress.  It is a great tool to communicate with senior management, or to simply keep a watchful eye on your environment.

We won't go into detail in this article about using the Dashboard, but we will do that in all of the great articles linked to below.  That said, the FileWave dashboard is a collection of custom code and open-source solutions.  We'll give you the beginner's guide here for customizing your dashboard up to some more advanced topics, but if you really want to understand how things work, you'll want to take a look at some of the following resources as well:

The building blocks

The FileWave dashboard gives you the building blocks to build amazing content to represent your environment, much in the same way that we give you excellent tools for building scripts and file deployment packages.  The dashboard is also similar to our other technical solutions in that with great power comes great responsibility.  The FileWave support engineers will make every effort to help you make sure that your dashboard is running correctly, but they won't be building custom dashboards and custom datasets for you.  If you need help with that part of the solution, we'd be happy to do a professional services engagement with you, so please reach out.
